Platform Drives Reduced Medical Costs with Fewer Resources

CHATTANOOGA, TN and DENVER, CO — Monday, July 18, 2016 — BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (“BCBST”) and Softheon Technologies, a leading cloud-based prescriptive analytics and consumer engagement platform company, announced they have entered into a multiyear agreement to drive increased consumer engagement and medical cost reduction across commercial and government lines of business.

Industry drivers such as cost compression and the impacts of the ACA are forcing health plans to seek solutions that can scientifically prove and measure outcomes that help improve the health of their customers. “Softheon’s platform represents a huge leap forward for us,” said Sherri Zink, Senior Vice President and Chief Data and Engagement Officer for BCBST. “The platform predicts not only who to target, but also prescribes what actions to take, measures outcomes, and optimizes what’s working for whom at the member level. The contract comes on the heels of a successful 12-month pilot where Softheon demonstrated significant speed to value and cost reduction.”
